The PMDT people - 32 runs, 30 Q’s, 17 placements, 2 new level titles, 1 new ARCH, 2 new ARCHEX’s!
Lesley got her ARCH, Shadow and Beau finished up their ARCHEX’s (and are now retired from rally), Emma finished up her RL1 Championship and now has 4 QQ’s toward her ARCH, Susie got Lily's RL1 title and Maria got Mr. T's level 3 title. Renee Hall with her Golden, Sophie is ranked #3 for RL3
We are all very proud of Susie - she was terrified of going into the ring and while there were some handler errors costing some points, they both did a fantastic job! There was a run-off with Spring and we had to talk Susie into doing the run-off and she won it! Spring at that point was in “trick mode” and couldn’t concentrate. We are also very proud of Spring - her last time at a rally trial she ended up attached to Anna’s arm - this time, she acted like a big girl and worked like a pro! This weekend also saw a newcomer in Darby (who just turned a year old last week) and she acted like a big girl too! It was really cool to see Darby and Spring - they were both very composed, very professional, poised and very focused!

Holy c$#@ ladies and gents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 30 entries,
28 Q’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 16 placements!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Again a HUGE thanks to Anna, our wonderful trial secretary
and Joan, Lesley, Jayne, Gina, Holly, Robin and Jim
for being absolutely incredible stewards. Special thanks to
Robin, Sarah and Karen for helping me clean the building on
Friday – what
a huge job that was, especially with my vacuum cleaner breaking
at the onset! This could not have happened without you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And a big congratulations to all of the competitors for making
me look good! <g>
You should all be very proud of yourselves!
When
I adopted Elsie, my Cattle Dog (Rescue dog from Kentucky)
2 years ago, I never thought of her as anything other
than a great pet dog. At that time, I had never entered
any kind of Dog Sport or Competition myself. When I took
her to her beginner Obedience classes, we realized that
she was a very smart and trainable dog. My trainers suggested
that I try entering in Rally Obedience with her, so we
took a few Rally classes and started competing in the
Spring of '07. We had fun and did pretty well- we got
our Level 1Title, and started in the 1B class too (class
for experienced dogs who have already earned a level 1
title). Our average score for all our Spring and Summer
shows was a 196 (a perfect score is a 210). These were
good scores for a complete beginner, and nothing at all
to feel bad about.
However, when I started competing in the "B" classes,
I was dismayed to see how competitive it was, and
how high the scores of the competitors that placed
were. I felt that we were doing our best, and didn’t
really know where we were losing points, or how to
improve from where we were at that point. I decided
to look around for a trainer that excelled in Rally
and take further lessons. I came across Pam's website,
and was very impressed with her list of scores and
placements (under Behold the Power icon). We started
taking lessons from Pam in late summer, and started
competing again in early fall. We did quite a few
shows in the fall, and our average score jumped to
207!! We even placed a couple of times too, and won
a High Scoring Rescue Dog award at our first trial
after starting at PMDT. Thanks Pam, for helping us
clean up our performance and "kick it up a notch"!!
